taxilian 09:07 FireBreathBot: tell ominds try looking on the firebreath.org wiki; if you're getting link errors that means you need to add the library. search the wiki for "using libraries"
FireBreathBot 09:07 taxilian: I'll pass that on when ominds is around.
ominds 09:07 hello, how can I get the plugin path in my project?
FireBreathBot 09:07 ominds: 15:00Z <taxilian> tell ominds try looking on the firebreath.org wiki; if you're getting link errors that means you need to add the library. search the wiki for "using libraries"
ominds 09:07 I tried the boost::filesystem::current_path() and it's getting me the home folder for some odd reason
taxilian 09:07 ominds: check the tips and tricks page
ominds 09:07 great!
thanks
regarding python, I successfully added the library
taxilian 09:07 ominds: most of the questions I've seen you ask (usually when I'm not around 'til now) you can find the answer to on the webpage
just FYI
ominds 09:07 but the plugin crashed when trying to call a python method
sure, thanks, I'm getting the hang of it :)
taxilian 09:07 unfortunately I have never tried interfacing with python from C++, so I don't know the answer to that =]
ominds 10:07 how do I access that method from my API? Sorry if this c++ 123
it's been 5 years :P
taxilian 10:07 which method?
ominds 10:07 I create getFilesystemPath
inside my plugin
std::string FlashFirebug::getFilesystemPath();
taxilian 10:07 ahh. if you look in your API .h file you'll see a getPlugin() method that you can use to access your plguin object
unless you changed something
getPlugin()->getFilesystemPath() or something similar
ominds 10:07 there it is, thanks :)
simply perfect, thanks again
taxilian 10:07 good luck
ominds 10:07 just for some context, we're trying to migrate flashfirebug for firefox to chrome, it has 90,000+ users. Need to communicate with the filesystem and this seems to be the only sane way through a chrome extension
