|zEh-||10:04||didnt check the rest of the sources, just the last commit on fb-29. do u usually rely on compiler optimizations like changing postincrement to preincrement?|
|taxilian||10:04||rely on? no. however, when I become aware of something that often gives an advantage, I try to remember to use it — as long as it's not causing any other issues
trying to avoid premature pessimization =]

|taxilian||10:04||probably not a bad idea. I'm not going to go crazy on little optimizations like that, though, on functions like Construct
I'll try to remember it for the next time I'm in there, however

|jshanab_wcw||12:04||I am going crazy. My plugin talks to a server program that archives and serves out video. A while ago for no apparent reason, the live playback just quit working. At that same time the system also started throwing an exception while connecting to rtsp streams, and i think they are related. The diff is the archiver app, loops and tries again and again. and eventually connects. So I try yo...
...connect the debugger and just the act of attaching is enought to make it work flawlessly. GRRRR. How the heck to I get this thing to give me a backtrace? any ideas?
|sabotaged|wk||12:04||attaching a debugger in release mode makes it work? or building it in debug mode makes it work|
|jshanab_wcw||12:04||It is a debug build. Attaching the debugger makes it work fine. Which indicates it must be some kind of timeing issue. PS worked before I removed a bunch of logging that also slowed it down. I have tried to guess where to put stragic, Sleeps to figure it out, but no dice yet|
|sabotaged|wk||12:04||well, you can try building it in release mode with debugging symbol generation on
then you should be able to attach with a debugger
or use something like dr watson to get a dump
