Jamil 09:01 Hi, anybody can answer my wix question?
jshanab_wcw 10:01 I just logged on, what was the Q?
Anyone see an immediate unload of all dll's and thread exit when trying to debug a plugin?
Jamil 10:01 can I ask my wix question?
jshanab_wcw 10:01 what is the Q?
Jamil 10:01 thx, I have 4 dll dependencie for my firebreath plugin, how to integrate them to the wix project?
jshanab_wcw 10:01 I add a post build custom target that copies them froma source dll directory into a dll directory inside my build, then the wix installer can easily find them
here I copy from my projects's common lib/libavcodec into my target's Win32/dll folder
then I put it in a component section of the wix file
Jamil 10:01 we need to put them manualy into wix file?
jshanab_wcw 10:01 What platform are you on, I am doing the windows build first and the ProjectInslaler.wxs file shows up for edit. Ther I add registry keys too
FBGen created the template, I think it is still up to us to fill it in
Jamil 10:01 widows
jshanab_wcw 10:01 The way I see it, There is no way at fbgen time that FB can know what you are gonna put in your project. It may be a future feature for the prpr script to scan and update :-)
Jamil 10:01 ok I see, note that only version 1.3 is creating the wix project but not the 1.4
I don't have problem to use the 1.3
can you confirm please that the msi I will have will install the plugin to run on both IE and firefox?
jshanab_wcw 10:01 confirm? you want me to try it? or just tell you that I have succeeded on mine
Jamil 10:01 only asking, I will try that
one more question
what this mean
error LGHT0204: ICE38: Component cmpE732B0CF6AD18B2592429F743A9B4367 installs to user profile. It must use a registry key under HKCU as its KeyPath, not a file.
jshanab_wcw 10:01 I have to admin I am not yet on 1.4, indeeed i think I am on 1.2.2
Jamil 10:01 ok
jshanab_wcw 10:01 Yup, I have seen that before. Gotta work on the wix file. I will paste an example
Jamil 10:01 so with this example you don't have the ICE38?
the Guid of the Component Id ffmpeg comes from where?
jshanab_wcw 10:01 It has worked in Chrome, FF,IE, and Safari on windows
I do not remember. Some i created, Some I got from the website. sorry
Jamil 10:01 so not generated by you? I wanted to be sure
jshanab_wcw 10:01 that one i created i believe
because i am installing my own copies of the libraries, it is just a registry placeholder to find the dll's on load time
Jamil 10:01 Ok let me try that, hope it will work...thank you for your help at this Sunday time
jshanab_wcw 10:01 (ignore the SDLmain.dll, just added and it is wrong)
Jamil 10:01 ok
jshanab_wcw 10:01 That is not ffmpeg related, it is a GDI substitute anyway i am trying. "Simple Direct Layer"
