IRC Nick Time (GMT-7) Message
matra 07:08 HI, does recent mozilla announcement about changing extension model affect Firebreath? (https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2015/08/21/the-future-of-developing-firefox-add-ons/)
taxilian 08:08 matra: FireBreath doesn't use extensions except in fb2.0 on chrome, so no it shouldn't.
matra 08:08 taxilian: Thanks, I was afraid that we would soon need FB 3.0 :-)

we actually could probably extend FB 2.0 to work with firefox extensions if we needed to

when we designed it we did so with future portability in mind
matra 08:08 What benefits we sould get by by itroducing yet another dependency. Firefox WebExtension needs to be signed by Mozilla (thhey have manual review process)

jds 08:08 hello folks.
can anyone provide some insight as to whether the Mozilla annoucement this past few days about deprecating XPCOM and XUL will or will not impact firebreath?
taxilian 09:08 firebreath doesn't use XPCOM or XUL
so it shouldn't
