IRC Nick Time (GMT-7) Message
bilde2910 02:01 Hey Firebreath! I noticed that the irc-logviewer on GitHub is lacking a LICENSE file. Is it okay for you if I use it as a public log viewer? I've made some changes (like adding hashtag query strings, which was on your TODO, and changing the code to be compatible with ZNC's directory structure) and would be happy to share my changes with you :-)
taxilian 10:01 bilde2910 is that the php or ruby version?
bilde2910 10:01 PHP, the one from 2011
taxilian 10:01 you're welcome to use it; we don't use it anymore
bilde2910 10:01 Great, thanks!
taxilian 10:01 (you'd be welcome to use it either way, just letting you know that we don't use it)

bilde2910 10:01 It seemed so useful with search functionality and all
While I'm here, is it okay if I log this channel on there as well?
taxilian 10:01 there is a ruby version which is a bit more complete
sure
sure
our current version is on logs.firebreath.org, if you're interested in looking
bilde2910 10:01 I'm not really good at Ruby, though, and haven't set it up on the server. I think I'll stick with PHP for now, but thanks for letting me know about it

taxilian 10:01 okay
okay
bilde2910 10:01 Is logs.firebreath.org the ruby one?
taxilian 10:01 yes
yes
we keep meaning to add to it but haven't had time
bilde2910 10:01 Hm. I might adapt that style set onto PHP. It looks really nice.
Thanks, by the way
taxilian 10:01 I think it uses elasticsearch or something similar for indexing; trying to remember how that was done
I didn't actually write it, one of our contributors did
bilde2910 10:01 I see
I see
taxilian 10:01 what project are you with that you want to log your irc room?
bilde2910 10:01 I'm on a ZNC bouncer, so am on 24/7. I was thinking I could set up a public log server for the channels I'm in, as long as I've got their permissions to do so
It's useful for looking up old conversations and things
taxilian 10:01 I use one as well
agreed =]
that's exactly how I use this, though I only log my channels

bilde2910 10:01 There we go - https://znc.varden.info/ if you're interested
oops. Add logs/ to that
taxilian 10:01 might want to change the title =]
bilde2910 10:01 Yeah. What should I write
Yeah. What should I write
taxilian 10:01 it's your system, I don't care
bilde2910 10:01 Ok. Thought I might be taking away credit. I'll figure something out.
taxilian 10:01 nah. I don't think anyone cares about credit on that project anymore. Put a link to the github repo somewhere or something, that'll be enough
bilde2910 10:01 Mkay
bilde2910 10:01 There we go. Link added next to version number
