IRC Nick Time (GMT-7) Message
taxilian 14:01 N3X15_: any luck with 64 bit heat?
N3X15_ 15:01 taxilian_away, yep, works fine with a small python script that fixes some small mistakes it makes..
Will have a PR soon.
taxilian 17:01 kylehuff: you around?
kylehuff 17:01 taxilian: yes
taxilian 17:01 I need to start doing a native messaging thing this next week
did you look at the latest on that ticket you made where the guy was claiming you can do it with HKCU?

kylehuff 17:01 I haven't seen it, no, but I have successfully used the HKCU method with native messaging

taxilian 17:01 oh, okay. I was under the impression that you weren't able to get it to work
any tips on getting started w/ native messaging?
kylehuff 17:01 taxilian: I've spent a lot of time playing with it, and the biggest gotcha (and least documented concept) is the writing out of the data to the chrome process that calls your binary.
taxilian 17:01 ?
kylehuff 17:01 with native messaging, chrome calls the binary executable referenced in the HKCU key and expects a JSON return along with some size information
taxilian 17:01 .. so it doesn't actually launch it and keep it going, it runs it once for each message?
you don't have a few minutes you could chat audio about this, do you?
kylehuff 17:01 sure, but I might have some unsightly background noise (newborn)
she is asleep at the moment, but as I'm sure you know, that never lasts. lol
taxilian 18:01 N3X15: awesome on the pull request; I'm a bit concerned about adding the dependency on python, though.
N3X15 18:01 fbgen is already dependant on python :V

taxilian 18:01 yes, but fbgen is not required to build a firebreath project =]

N3X15 18:01 True.
taxilian 18:01 I'm not saying I'm not willing to consider it

but I'd be happier if we could avoid the dependency

N3X15 18:01 Yeah.
taxilian 18:01 btw, kylehuff and I have been brainstorming and we have some ideas for FireBreath 2 and supporting Chrome and Firefox without NPAPI
N3X15 18:01 Anyway, like I said, probably a better way of doing it, but it's a quick and dirty way of getting it working on Windows.
Nice.
